#108: Obama, The Election, and War on Iran (Again)

July 16, 2012

On Dec 5, 2011 in Post 99 I argued that we can expect Obama to ratchet up war fever ever higher as we approach the Nov election. In Post 100, I linked to an article supporting that thesis. In Post 107 I reminded you of the trend. In the last few weeks, the compliant news media have been preparing the population for war. There have been several articles lately, but here’s just two:

http://www.newser.com/story/150093/us-sends-underwater-drones-to-persian-gulf.html

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/03/world/middleeast/us-adds-forces-in-persian-gulf-a-signal-to-iran.html?pagewanted=all

Obama needs a BIG distraction if he’s going to win the election. That distraction is going to be war with Iran. Timing is hard to predict, but I would guess that the first strike will come from Israel with the U.S. protecting the Gulf (and trying to keep U.S. Jewish support) and providing tactical support sometime around the beginning of August.

We’re getting close, expect an increasing number of stories in the media about both the U.S. and Iran making preparations for war. I’m not one of Coleridge’s “ancestral voices,” but I am “prophesying war.”
