#99: Iran: Axis of Evil Number Two

December 5, 2011

Obama and his liberal surrogates have spent much time vilifying and ridiculing a George W. Bush who has never dignified their low-class leftist smut with a response. When Obama ran for office in 2008 — it’s easy to remember, since he hasn’t stopped campaigning since — he spent much energy lambasting Bush for the war in Iraq. Liberals laughed at the phrase “Axis of evil.” Well, since then, Obama has himself been waging lots of war, the most recent one in Libya, where we didn’t even have a dog in the fight, and we will likely wind up with a really nasty Muslim “democracy.” Does Obama have another war up his sleeve?

On Feb 12, 2010, I penned a post entitled “So What’s Gonna Happen Next, Eh?” (#54) in which I suggested that Obama would declare war on Iran in order to improve the economy and save what is left of his presidency.  I was reminded of the post by the following on-line article: http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/iran-war-obama-israel/2011/12/05/id/419969 .

We often hear it said that timing is everything, and for Obama, this means specifically political timing. If I’m right, then we can expect the undeclared covert war to escalate until just shortly before the 2012 election, when it will be publicly acknowledged with great fanfare. If this war looks even marginally successful, Obama will be able to reclaim the American liberal Jews he is in the process of losing at the moment, in addition to looking like he’s actually in charge of something. Generally, Americans don’t like to switch from one horse’s ass to another in the middle of a war, so that would also help the horse’s ass in the White House right now.

An American led war has a lot going for it right now, even strategically. Syria is mired in an internal rebellion, with the Arab League openly criticizing one of their own. Even though Turkey is Islamist, it is also in competition with Iran for being the Big Dog in the region. The Saudis and most of the small states are terrified of a nuclear Iran and would provide covert cover for a war against Iran. All in all, Obama may very well decide that this is just too good a Middle East crisis to waste!
